2010 third Press Release Sept 21 2010

Excitement is Building for Bling My Bra 2010

Volunteers are hard at work creating handcrafted one-of-a-kind themed art bras for Bling My Bra 2010, a series of eBay Giving Works auctions whose proceeds will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The auctions will be held throughout October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Bling My Bra has commitments from so many talented and creative people this year, including ecommerce and other celebrities, complete with autographs and extra goodies. The list of those blinging a bra for charity features:

Richard Brewer-Hay, eBay Ink Blog
Marshia Collier, Bestselling author of the eBay for Dummies series
Lynn Dralle, The Queen of Auctions and eBay Certified Provider
Jim “Griff” Griffith and Lee Mirabal, hosts of Ebay Radio
Edward Hamilton, the Ministry of Rum
John Jantsch, Duct Tape Marketing
Debbie Levitt, founder/CEO of As Was, an eBay Certified Store Designer
Mike Michalowicz, the Toilet Paper Entrepeneur

EBay is supporting Bling My Bra too, with several teams of employees involved in creating bras. Bling My Bra Board of Directors member Melinda Jackson spoke to John Donahoe, President and CEO of eBay Inc., while in San Jose at eBay: On Location and got a commitment for a signed bra to auction. Donahoe will also award an iPad to the eBay staff member whose bra brings in the most money for Susan G. Komen via Bling My Bra.

Last year’s inaugural Bling My Bra campaign through eBay Giving Works auctions raised $3000 for breast cancer awareness and research through Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Susan G. Komen is the global leader in the breast cancer movement, and 84 cents of every dollar earned goes directly to awareness, education, and research.
